Amazon Seller Central Address Verification: Phone Bill Option

Amazon accepts a phone/mobile bill alongside utility bills and bank statements for Seller Central address verification. What has to match, and what Amazon's 2026 video-verification step adds on top.

Amazon Seller Central Address Verification: Phone Bill Option

What Amazon actually accepts for address verification

Amazon's Seller Central KYC flow asks for proof of address as part of onboarding, and its accepted document list is broader than just gas or electricity bills — a bank statement from a regulated financial institution or a phone/mobile bill is accepted on the same footing, provided the document is dated within the last 90 days. For a non-resident forming a Wyoming or Delaware LLC with no physical residence in that state, a utility bill is often simply impossible to produce — a legitimate carrier phone bill tied to the business is the practical alternative.

What has to match for it to be accepted

The document fails review when details don't line up, not because of the document type itself:

  • The business name on the phone bill should match your LLC's legal name as filed with the Secretary of State
  • The billing address should match the address on your Seller Central application and your Articles of Organization
  • The statement must be current — dated within 90 days of submission, not an old or first-month invoice
  • The document should be a genuine, carrier-issued statement — not a screenshot or edited PDF

Amazon's 2026 verification is stricter than it used to be

Amazon has layered on more frequent re-verification checks and, for most new accounts, a video verification step — either a live video call or a face scan matched against your government-issued ID — on top of document review. Address proof is one piece of a broader identity-verification process, not the only gate, so having a clean, consistent document set (EIN letter, LLC filing, address proof, and a clear video verification) matters more holistically than any single document.

The LLC and tax ID side of the application

Beyond address proof, Amazon requires your business legal name and address, a Tax ID (SSN or EIN — non-residents use their LLC's EIN), bank account details for payouts, an internationally chargeable card, and IBAN/SWIFT information for international sellers. All of these need to trace back consistently to the same LLC — mismatched details across the EIN letter, bank account name, and Seller Central application is a more common rejection cause than any single document type.

What this doesn't fix on its own

A phone bill solves the specific 'I have no utility bill' problem — it doesn't substitute for having your other documentation (EIN, bank account, entity filing) consistent and complete. Amazon's review looks at the whole application; submitting a valid phone bill alongside mismatched or incomplete entity documents won't resolve a rejection caused by those other gaps.
