What you need to know

01

What Is an Apostille?

An Apostille is a form of international certification defined by the Hague Convention of 1961. It authenticates the origin of a public document (such as a business certificate or government-issued record) so it will be legally recognised in another country that is a signatory to the Hague Convention. Over 120 countries accept apostilled documents.

02

Which US Documents Can Be Apostilled?

Common US business documents that can be apostilled include: Articles of Organization / Certificate of Formation (LLC), Certificate of Good Standing, EIN Confirmation Letter (IRS Form CP 575), Corporate Bylaws or Operating Agreement (notarised), and Certificate of Incumbency. Each document type requires submission to the Secretary of State of the state where it was issued.

03

When Do You Need an Apostille?

You may need a US apostille if you are opening a business bank account abroad using your US LLC documents, registering your US LLC as a foreign entity in another country, applying for a business visa or residence permit using your LLC credentials, entering into international contracts requiring certified documentation, or verifying your business identity for international payment platforms.

04

Apostille vs Notarisation — Key Difference

Notarisation is performed by a notary public and verifies the authenticity of a signature. An Apostille is performed by a government authority (usually the Secretary of State) and certifies the document for international use. For documents to be used abroad in Hague Convention countries, apostille authentication is required — notarisation alone is insufficient.

05

Processing Time & Procedure

The apostille process typically takes 7–14 business days depending on the issuing state and current processing volumes. Rush apostille services are available in some states (3–5 days). HynoGo manages the complete process: document preparation, state authority submission, apostille attachment, and secure delivery of the authenticated document to your dashboard.

06

What We Handle For You

HynoGo coordinates the complete apostille process on your behalf. We prepare the document correctly, submit it to the appropriate state authority (Secretary of State), track the application, pay all government fees, and deliver the apostilled document to your secure client dashboard. International courier options are also available.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Over 120 Hague Convention member countries accept US apostilles, including the UK, Germany, France, UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and most of Europe and Asia.

Only documents issued or certified by a US government authority can receive an apostille (e.g., Secretary of State certificates, court documents). Private documents (like contracts) must first be notarised before being eligible for apostille.

The apostille certificate itself does not expire. However, the underlying document (such as a Certificate of Good Standing) may have its own validity period — typically 30–90 days. We advise on timing your apostille request accordingly.

The most common business documents that need apostille authentication include: Articles of Organization / Certificate of Formation (LLC), Certificate of Good Standing, EIN Confirmation Letter, Corporate Bylaws (notarised), and Certificate of Incumbency.

Apostille is required for documents used in Hague Convention member countries (120+). Legalisation (a more complex process through the foreign country's embassy) is required for non-Hague countries. We advise on which process applies for your target country.

The apostille process typically takes 7–14 business days depending on the issuing state and current processing volumes. Some states offer expedited apostille services in 3–5 business days.

Yes. While all documents are delivered digitally to your secure dashboard, we can also arrange physical courier delivery of the original apostilled document to any international address upon request.
